1. Keep a small notebook with you all the time:
This is said to be a genius quality.. and I believe, if you want to be something.. start picking up characteristics that match it. Many great thinkers and innovators have done this to write down ideas they get when they aren't at a place to act on them.
In mine, I've (loosely) organized it to keep up with and easily find the things I write. Not only do I write ideas, but sometimes I'll hear about things I want to look into.
Some of my basic categories are:
- Movies
- Bands
- Books
- Authors
- Workout Routines
- Items
- Websites
2. Start Journaling:
You may remember journaling from childhood or have a stigma associated with it because of all the 'fads' that seems to be following it lately. The truth is, it can be very beneficial when you do it productively. I would say the best time to do it is near the end of your day. This will wind you down and allow you to reflect on the things that happened that day. Thus, helping you to relieve stress.
Here are some tips to make your journal a good edition to your life:
- Sit in a quiet place
- Doodle!
- Know that you don't have to write an entry daily. (You want this to be as stress-free as possible)
- Write only about things in a positive productive light.
- Even if you feel like you have nothing to write about, do it anyway.
- Write the date and maybe even the time. It's nice to look back at progress that you make, it's a real confidence booster.
I'm not saying to dump your current friends, but if they're in a negative, self-deprecating, and destructive state of mind it will do you alot of good to venture out and meet new contacts. Even if they aren't.. it's good to keep meeting new people and being open to new friendships.
The truth is, I was once in that state of mind. Looking back on it.. I wouldn't expect anyone to hang around with the person I used to be.
It's one of the best things you can do for yourself. The people you hang around are a part of your recurring reality so they can help shape your personality and even how you see the world. Have you ever been around someone for a while and noticed you were imitating words, way of speech, and body language?
Don't worry so much about how, oh so sad they will be if you DO decide to stop hanging out with them. You're not in control of there happiness.. they are. After all, you know that if someone stops hanging out with you suddenly, that doesn't mean you're less of a person, right?
When something happens that you perceive as bad, you have to be able to look past it and see that better things are on there way. That may sound cliche but your thoughts DO create your reality.
It may seem difficult to find positive and productive people but if you're emitting the vibration, it will attract other vibrations like itself. You could also join an online community. I know that joining YouTube has helped me grow tremendously. Not only sharing my thoughts and receiving feedback.. but watching others' videos and learning what they've come to believe has been an awesome experience.
4. Monitor your thoughts and control them:
Your thoughts make up the majority of your life. <--- Powerful and true statement.
Think about it, when do you think? Ah.. you're even thinking right now, it's crazyiness! Before you act on things you think about them, while you're listening to someone talk, while YOU talk, and while you're sitting doing seemingly nothing. So they matter.. ALOT.
Speaking of matter..your thoughts also draw matter to you. How? Energy.
A thought has a frequency and so does everything else. Physical things just have a slower wavelengths that are further apart.. that's why we can see them. Your thoughts and body have an energy field and your energy field interacts with other energy fields.

So if the majority of your thoughts are spent thinking about negative things, that will be what you experience. Consider the things you fear, which one's are completely irrelevant that you will have to face anyway? Rather than focusing on the bad that could happen, think about what good could come of it. Have you ever thought about someone that you dislike so much that you go over what you would say if they offended you? I used to. I'm telling you, it's great to get rid of those thought. You have more important things to focus on and you'll develop more meaningful relationships.

5. Integrate some Healthy Foods into your diet:
Remember what I said about frequency? Well, food also has a frequency. But, I honestly think that unhealthy foods like hamburgers, fried foods, and candy bars don't have MUCH of a vibration. I believe that the most healthy foods are the most natural. Fresh apples, avocados, walnuts, and hemp seed to name a few.
Currently, I'm a vegan (No meat or dairy) but in the next year, I plan on implementing ALOT more raw foods into my diet and getting rid of gluten all together. My ultimate goal is to only eat raw food.
After I became a vegan, the food industry became one of my pet peeves. Multi-billion dollar corporations putting food on the market that are full of artificial colors, pesticides, bad fats, and so many other flaws that leave most of your food nutrient-less and loaded with preservatives. So what can we do about this? Complain about the man?! No. How about just gently introducing better foods into your diet, take interest in learning healthy recipes, and know that your health could benefit every area in your life.

Ok, I'm off my soapbox now. About the frequency :P. When you eat foods with a higher vibration, it raises and maintains your own. It's like hanging around with people. If you're hanging around with the wrong foods, it will diminish your energy. I don't care how many reiki sessions, meditations, or massages you do.. there will be a void. Granted, you may feel good now, but imagine how much better you will feel. Well.. it's kind of impossible to imagine it, so you'll just have to try it. :)
So those are just a few tips I can give you to start boosting your happiness, productivity, and health. I hope you enjoy them. Like I said at the beginning.. this is the first of many blogs that will be geared toward self-development.
